I have been doing CrossFit myself since 2007, and I have been coaching CrossFit since 2009. Growing up my life was based around sports. I played all sports growing up, but settled into Basketball when I got into High School. In High School I loved the idea of training for a sport, but really had no idea how to do it. When I was introduced to CrossFit I fell in love with it immediately. I loved the Weightlifting, the short but incredibly difficult conditioning sessions, but most of all I loved the fact that it brought me and my teammates closer together. As much as I love doing CrossFit, I have found over time that my true passion is coaching other athletes. I love to motivate and inspire athletes to be a little bit better than the day before. Because I believe CrossFit is the most amazing avenue for anyone to achieve any health or fitness goals they may have, I love to coach people through it. 


About Me:

The general fitness movements are what naturally attracted me to Crossfit.  After a change of lifestyle and losing a substantial amount of weight, I was no longer focused on big biceps.  I wanted to be lean and able to do physical activities without being completely exhausted all the time.    I went through a number of 12 week exercise programs and endurance training, which were great, but lead to injuries.  My girlfriend (now wife) forced me to try out a new CrossFit gym (Pilchuck) in my area in November of 2012, and I have been hooked ever since.  I got faster, stronger, and my injuries greatly subsided.  As a coach, I am able to share my passion and experiences, helping people achieve their personal goals.

About me:
I started CrossFit when my wife purchased my first month of OnRamp as a Valentine's Day gift.  I started in March of 2014 at Pilchuck and have been an athlete there ever since.  My original plan was to learn the movements, then start programming for myself.  I quickly learned that there is nothing like being in a gym with people you truly enjoy being around, doing something you love.  About 6 months after starting at PCF, I realized I wanted more and joined the Pilchuck Barbell Club, which is when I truly fell in love with the sports of weightlifting and CrossFit.  I'm excited to share my passion for something I truly believe will be beneficial to humans as they age.  I don't know about you, but I hope when I'm 70, I can still pull myself up off of a couch (or maybe even still have a respectable back squat number).
